ADAMH Board Providing Secondary Trauma Symposium For First Responders
We are pleased to announce the dates, locations and times for the Secondary Trauma Symposium! We will be providing three trainings in two centrally located locations to best suit the first responder’s schedules. As we announced during our Week of Appreciation, this is a 2 hour training for all first responders that reside in our 5 county board region of Fayette, Highland, Pickaway, Pike and Ross Counties.
Secondary traumatic stress is the emotional duress that results when an individual witnesses the firsthand trauma of others. Its symptoms mimic those of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This Secondary Trauma Symposium is being offered to first responders in our Board region. The attendees will learn coping skills and receive additional resources including a self-care video from the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services.
