PAX Partner/Coach Contract Position Highland County

The ideal candidate will work with Highland County schools (currently Lynchburg-Clay and Fairfield Local) 10-15 hours per week for the 2019-2020 school year.  A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Health, Teaching, or other related Human Service field is required, Master’s Degree is preferred.

The ideal candidate will work with elementary teachers, principals, guidance counselors and other school support staff to coach in successful implementation of the PAX Good Behavior Game.

32 hours of Immersion training and ongoing web-based development will be provided to the ideal candidate to prepare them for this role.

Primary duties include:

  • Fostering positive teacher/support staff/administration relationships.
  • Modeling PAX GBG and empowering teachers to grow and sustain PAX GBG in their buildings.
  • Making observations, assessing the presence or absence of actions, provide effective feedback and acknowledge small improvements.
  • Demonstrating flexibility with plans and schedules; adjusting and spending extra time to solve problems, being creative and effective in promoting PAX GBG.
  • Documenting teacher and school progress through notes, data collection/entry and analysis.
  • Attending staff meetings and perform other duties at the request of the Prevention and Evaluation Coordinator and/or Associate Director.

Responsibilities
• Administer and record screening tests, intakes and assessments
• Facilitate groups and individual counseling
• Prepare progress reports for attorneys, court, probation officers, and others
• Prepare and maintain client EHR files

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and experience in counseling
• At least LCDCII and/or higher preferred
• AOD Addiction and/or mental health counseling experience a must
• Must have great communication skills and computer knowledge.
